I just wanted to add...Her mother is the one who brought it to my attention for her daughter to babysit, she's getting into that age of wanting to and plus her friend started doing it in her neighborhood so its making her more interested. It would more so be to occupy my 5 yr old, my 15mth old would nap for part of that time. They are literally right next door and her mother also works from home. I would never leave the house I would always be home and here if she needed help or had any questions.

  1. I think that $5 is a good amount.

  2. Honestly, that's a lot of responsibility for an 11 yr. old (even if your home).  Talk to her parents first  re- the $ issue, and her responsibilities.  They'll be the only one who can really tell you if she'll be capable.  THEN talk to the girl what her expectations are and for how much.  You don't want to be cheap esp. if they're your neighbors - they're there for life!

  3. she is 11 15$ to an 11 year old is a gold mine. All an 11 year old spends $ on is candy, movies, and mary-kate ashley makeup kits... 5$ is fine. The only real  question is if you trust an 11 year old with such a young son.

  4. $5 an hour is a good price for an 11 year old. I have an 11 year old and i asked her this question and she said

"$5 an hour is awesome. $5 at 2 - 3 hours a day that's a webkinz a day yeah!! I wish I was that girl getting that babysitting job."

  5. if you are home, she is with the kids, everyone has to have their first job. 11 years old, $15 a day, 3 days a week, that's a cd a week. you could build her entire music library in a month and a half! monitor her progress, especially with the young one, for the first few weeks, i think everyone will be fine, and i say $5 an hour is good.

  6. Yes, that is a good amount.  My sister (who was 12 at the time) watched my brother's gf's kids (5 & 7 yrs.) like that for a couple days, while my mom was home, she got paid $3 an hour, for a longer period of time.
