I have a 6' shortboard with 3 cracks and 1 deep crater. I was just wonder how much should I be paying to get all of the dings repaired, so that the board looks almost brand new?

I can fix the cracks on my own, but I believe the crater needs to be filled and I would like a professional to do it. In this case, how much would it cost to simply fix the crater? The crater is about 1/2 inch in diameter.

  1. I had a small crater that I got fixed on my 7'6"... it cost me around 30 bucks I think.  It shouldn't be too much, just take it some place reliable.

  2. I think you should get the crater professionally fixed. As for  the small dings, you can fix that yourself with surf putty.

Surf putty is sold at your local surf shop, and they may sell it in Walmart.

  3. The local guys in San Diego would charge around $40-$50 and would also include polishing.  Don't let water in your board as it will thrash your board and can lead to a delam which is more expensive to fix.

  4. Figure 20-30 bucks.  Best bet though is to learn to fix your own dings.  Saves money in the long run and your board's not in the shop for 4 days for something that takes 20 minutes to fix.

  5. dont pay anything over 50. mabye 30 - 40
