Salaries totally depend on the club/player/marketing opportunities etc. Same as any industry. There is no flat salary.

Full time professional players that I know of range from £18,000 to £500,000.

Too much.  Rugby players salary money should go to Premiership players who play a proper exciting sport.

Depends which team / league they are in.  One thing for sure, nowhere near as much as footballers!

bugger all, Stuart Abbott is 'only' on £150,000 a year, compare that to a footballer their on twice dat a week. Matt Giteau is the most well paid rugby player nd hes on £500,000 a year

Around the time of the 2003 World Cup, Johnny Wilkinson was earing about £6,000 a week...just to play Rugby. That figure does not include all the sponsorship money he would have received after he won the World Cup with England.

It may also be worth me mentioning this...It seems to me that the less money there is in a particular sport, the more successful Britain is at that sport. Could this sum up why after 1966, the English football team can never seem to win the World cup, despite being built up and built up by the British press as potential winners, yet we have people like Ben Ainslie winning Olympic Gold medals in a less heralded sport such as sailing?
