  1. It depends on what type of buisnes you want. A small business, one that does less than $80,000 pesos a month in gross will cost only a small fee with imigration and around $2500p. Expect to pay an accountant 500 pesos a month and about 1% of your sales in taxes.

For  a corp. it get much more complicated. At least 10,000 pesos in lawyer fees, accountants and all the B.S. permisos you will need becuase your not Mexican.

  2. Sorry, this question is too ambiguous to answer. How high is high? How much is a lot? Do you want to open a car wash, or a manufacturing business? Two employees or 200? Sole proprietorship or corporation (S.A.)? Then there is the question of where. Prices in Mexico D.F. are a LOT higher than in Chiapas.

I was taught in college that at a minimum, you needed enough to open, stock your business with inventory, pay taxes and payroll and have enough to live on for TWO YEARS without pulling a penny out of the business to even try. That’s what I did here and it worked. Ten years ago.
