How much potential do I have in track. Any chance of getting a scholarship anywhere? I am a guy in 8th grade and my 800 time was 2:30(which i have only ran once), and my 400 time is 1:01.

  1. as far as your times right now, i would say that you are not going to be able to get a scholarship when you are older.  unless you suddenly become alot faster in the next few years, don't count on any sort of scholarship

  2. AS far as scholarships go, you don't have a fantastic chance. Sorry, but you are pretty much right above average, and to get the scholarships you have to win everything, and not just by a little, but by a TON.

  3. As much as pretty much anyone else... you are in the 8th grade.  It is very rare for any 8th grader to even have scratched the surface of their potential.  They aren't done growing physically even.

Your times now mean nothing.  All that matters is if you are willing to put in the work to improve them.  If you train hard, have some natural ability and get a little luck, you may run at college.

I would recommend not running for a scholarship.  Run because you enjoy it.  Run for your teammates.  Run to win.  Run to have fun.  Run for something that is now.  If you get a scholarship, great.  If you don't, well, you will have everything that running has already given you.

    Good luck.

  4. As far as a scholarship. not real chance. You are around average...to get a scholarship you have to be a phenom
