How much traveling will I do if I join the Navy?

where when and how often you go and for how long will depend on your rating, your sea/shore rotation and what platform you end up on.

in other words, we can't be specific because there are waaaayyyy too many variables.

It  will depend on the rate (job) you pick and where you are stationed.  You could go to a ship that is being built so you don't go anywhere.  you could get assigned to shore duty at an Overseas location and still not go anywhere. You could go IA to Djibouti, Afghanistan or Iraq.   Or you could be assigned to a ship that is constantly out to sea.  Even those deployments will range from a few days to weeks to months to over half the year.
