  1. Ask Jerry Springer.

  2. He will likely be arrested and serve time, brace yourself.

  3. You must keep your probation officer informed where you live, I believe within 30 days of moving. If he got pulled over in a stolen truck then she'll find out soon enough, if I were him i'd stay quiet until she found out (in case she never does *crosses fingers* ). Violation of probation can land you in jail for a couple months, all dependent on exactly what he did. If he won't get charged for driving the stolen car then he won't suffer problems with his PO.

  4. Well, he should have gotten a copy of his probation conditions, which usually have a rule requiring that every contact with the police be reported to the probation officer.  Also, it is required to get permission prior to a residence move.

But, these are not that bad of violations.  Was he arrested when he was caught driving the stolen truck?

If he was arrested it is worse than if he was just stopped.

And, if she did not try to visit him at the house and that is how she found out he moved it is not that big a deal either.

The probation officer cannot revoke a probation.  The probation officer merely reports violations of conditions to the court.  The judge is the only one who can violate the probation and send him to jail or prison.  The maximum sentence is the one that he was sentenced to which was suspended while he was on probation.

He will be entitled to a hearing where he can present evidence, or testimony regarding the alleged violations.  He is entitled to an attorney to represent him at the hearing.

However, if there are violations the probation officer can get a warrant, or arrest based on probable cause (depending on the state), and place him in jail to await his hearing.

Or, the probation officer can fashion an intermediate sanction, which he will find out about at his meeting tomorrow.  (Like house arrest, drug treatment if necessary, or weekends in jail, or a term of jail as a condition of probation, if he agrees to an amendment he can sign an amended terms of conditions without a lawyer)

Your dad needs to be fore careful who his friends are.

    Good Luck

  5. Your dad sounds like a quality individual.  He's likely fucked.  You can get in loads of trouble for pulling something like that.

  6. You can be in a lot of trouble. I'm on parole for 3 years, for violated my probation..basically they sent me up state(prison) Probation is I think worse then parole, they don't give you a chance. Probation is a hook, and they're trying to get you in, I'm serious. If he got caught in a stolen truck how is he out of jail right now, and how could he come to her office in the morning. And not letting your probation officer know you moved, is  also bad. at times they want to raid your house, and if they know you moved, thats money and their time, and saying that you ran away.

It could be really bad for him. I'm sorry for being blunt, I just went through the same thing kinda.

  7. He is in big trouble.

  8. If she wants to, she can revoke his probation and send him to jail.  Sorry to say so, but things don't sound too promising for him.

  9. He's busted for sure! I heard that probation officers are $$holes. BUT, if he has evidence, like the pink slip and the bill of sale to the truck that would be dismissed. Moving without telling her and not getting permission to move, just might violate him. All depends on how the P.O. relates to your dad. If it's his first offense, he might just get a warning and wind up doing community service. He could do weekends if he supports you and the family providing he has a job. Good luck!
