My next door neighbors moved and left there 2 dogs. They moved out about a week ago. We thought the house was empty. Today when people came to rehab the house. They opened the door, the dogs started barking and ran out. The dogs look bad. You can tell they have had no food for awhile. I was shocked that they left them. The oldest dog is micro-chipped. Do you know the consequences, if any for animal abandonment? Is this also animal endangerment? I know its abuse and neglect.

  1. Add cruelty to animals to the charges!

Call your local animal control agency and report it. Meanwhile, is anyone caring for them?

  2. Your neighbors could get a life sentence in prison for cruelty to animals!

Your neighbors will probably get animal abandonment and cruelty to animals so probably lots of trouble because animal cruelty is a felony so they probably will go to prison. And on their way pick up a hefty fine.

  3. i dont kno exactly, im just a teenager but i kno its pretty serious. wouldnt be surprised if it equalled a massive fine and / or jail time

and thats horrible!!! how could anyone do that to dogs...

  4. i watch animal cops on animal planet and that happened...

if they find the people they can fine them for a lot... not sure how much, or they can put them in jail.

  5. Thank-you for caring for these dogs until help arrived. It is sad that they have left animals in those conditions for such a long time! Makes you wonder if it is part of this economy where people just give up shelters are over full and won't take in more at times .  There is NO EXCUSE..It was a thought It sounds as if one time they may have cared for the dogs.I was in the grocery store the other day and there were fliers up for people loosing there homes and needing a place for the dogs, they stated they had called 4 shelters and none would take the dogs, Who knows..

And even still people keep randomly breeding dogs..Well thanks, I was just thinking out loud.I hope the dogs are a few of the lucky ones that find a forever home!

  6. You need to contact the authorities who handle this in your area

  7. They can be jailed for it, and I sure hope they are. Most animal shelters take any animal given up to them - no questions asked and no fees demanded. There's absolutely no excuse for leaving an animal to starve to death like that.

  8. Report them to the Animal Rescue and maybe they can tell you even more to do to them.  They are very mean people to do  a thing like this!!!

  9. You can get in alot of trouble for that..  its abandonment, neglect and abuse..  they can get fined for all 3 charges for EACH dog!  It can mean fines and jail time.

  10. OMG call the cops thats aweful they can probably gt arrested

  11. I think that depends on what state you are in. I would contact the ASPCA about the situation

  12. Thats abandonment! Of coarse they can get in alot of trouble!

  13. Thats sick... What a couple of sick freaks.

  14. Call the cops and animal control and feed those puppies NOW!  Yes they will get in trouble if the authorities find them.

  15. PLEASE call the spca or any animal humane society near you

this crime is called abandoning your animal they will come and pick up the animals just tell the adress of the house of were the dogs are and they will come pick them up. They will take good care of them and if they ever find out who abaned them and find them they can get seriously charged ALOT of money or if it's really bad they will go to jail.

  16. If the humane society where you live is like the one where I live, they will do nothing but care for the dogs. Contact Peta, they care about people paying for being cruel to animals. If you know the names of the people who moved out, by all means contact someone and turn them in. Thanks for doing your part!!

  17. Yes, that person can be sent to jail for animal abuse!
