  1. in school - you could get kicked out or fail.

professionally - you could get sued

  2. LOTS OF TROUBLE.... as in supreme court trouble....

  3. It could follow you for the rest of your life. Case in point, Joe Biden, Obama's VP was busted for plagarizing a law review article. Not a good thing to have on you resume.

  4. Depends where/how you do it.

You can get sued if you professionally gain from it.

You can get expelled from a university for it.

You can fail an assignment and have a parent conference if you do it in high school.

In all cases, you lose the trust of people and make yourself look like an idiot, so don't do it.

  5. BIG!!

on a college level, you can get kicked out of the school and have it written on your records for all other colleges to see when you reapply

  6. Plagiarism in high school can lead to a zero on an assignment or a detention.  Sometimes it also results in a call home.  The teacher will also be watching you for further plagiarism, and will probably tell your other teachers to look for that too.

  7. It depends on how much you've copied.

Whatever happens, the person caught loses all their credibility as an author, and they can be sued for a lot of money.

  8. You can get into a lot of trouble.  Copying something is still plagiarism even if you change the words.  In high school, you could fail the assignment, fail the class, or even be suspended.  In college, you could be expelled if it's serious enough.  In the professional world, you could be sued and lose your job.  It's not a good thing to start doing.
