Why would you take traffic cones? What do you need them for? Put them back where they belong.

you did not? lol. i would hope nothing more than a slap on the wrist (fine, perhaps probation for 6 months).

I am not sure about cones, but one night I took on of those big ones with the light on it.  It had a sticker that I read later that said 1000.00 fine or something like that.......Long night, long story....

Good question. Well, obviously, the cops are going to ask what the traffic cones are for and where they came from. They are going to ask if you are the owner of the cones, or are they stolen? If the cop has a forgiving disposition, he or she might simply require you to put the traffic cones where they belong. If otherwise, he or she could place you under arrest for theft of city property. Which is a misdemeanor and carries a fine of $250 - $750 (depending on where you live.)

If you stole them?  Depending on the local laws it could be a misdemenor up to 90 days in jail, and a 1000 dollar fine.

If they're REALLY pissed off, and nail you for a safety violation?  Don't go there. . . you can't afford it

None. What's the difference if you have traffic cones or last weeks bread. However, if the cones belong to the city or utility company , then you have questions to answer.
