  1. I don't have much trust or respect for the majority of media. Somewhere along the line they forgot they are supposed to be objective. I have no problem if they disagree with me on a candidate, but they need to keep that out of their job. I see such derogatory and snide and leading questions and 1/2 the story and misleading soundbites that it makes me very wary of them.

Edward R Murrow was a democrat, but he was objective and a true journalist, we need more of them. The only one I had an ounce of trust in was Tim Russert and sadly he is gone.

Read the book Bias. It was written by a former CBS news man  (Bernard Goldberg). He is a Democrat, but it will make you change the way you listen and watch the news.

  2. huge, huge influence.  i have been watching msnbc and the daily show every day since last November.  I watch msnbc because it leans to a more liberal point of view, (with the exception of Pat Buchanan, who, for a republican is pretty cool).  I have watched fox from time to time, and after watching msnbc, it seems like complete lies and bias.  now, i think cnn stays more in the middle.

  3. The media have exposed themselves as an arm of the obama campaign.  It is disgusting to see them falling all over themselves writing one puff piece after another about their messiah.

There are very few real journalists anymore.  Why has no one done an investigation into obama's associations?  Obama shows a frightening lack of judgment about who he hangs out with.  But the media have taken upon themselves to smear Palin with lie after lie.

I don't know if that walking human waste (code pink) got in the Republican convention because msnbc issued them press passes (as it has been reported).  But it wouldn't surprise me.  The "news" media have sunk to that level.

I hope the American people realize how biased the media are.  We shouldn't let them dictate who our next president will be.

  4. It honestly doesn't make any sense for the media to be liberally biased. First of all, they are all rich so they don't have any consequences for voting republican.

Secondly, conflict in the news brings them ratings and profit so they would much prefer for the polls to be 50/50.

Thirdly, if they are biased then they risk losing sources of information from conservatives and they need them to properly cover all of the news (which may be one reason that they seem liberally biased because cons usually only talk to people who agree with them and don't challenge them (fox news).

There is a great deal of negativity to report about the repub party, maybe it's easier to blame the media and not yourselves.

  5. I don't trust them at all they are controled by the lbierals thus why they are called the liberal media the only place I trust is FOX news. CNN NSMBC AND NBC all lost my trust long ago

  6. None

    Nada

    Zero

    Zilch

    Huge

    Does that answer your questions?

  7. Not much.  It's mostly infotainment. I watch them all and  (my more Liberal friends will kill me for this) Fox news seems to be the most balanced. Unfortunately, I believe the media has a huge effect.  We are a lazy, give it to me free, soundbite believing society.

  8. I do not trust the reliability of the "news" media at all because it is all propaganda. I do think they have a large influence on the nation's present election because too many people do seem to trust what they say.

  9. none

  10. No trust at all.  All major news mediums selectively report the news.  And   that is if they aren't creating it in the first place.  Consider this: News outlets income comes from advertising.  So would a news outlet do a story on a faulty/dangerous/whatever the case may be product if it was supplied by their biggest financial contributor?  NO.

  11. I have no trust at all in the media.  You have to look for reliable alternative media sources.  NBC, CNN, MSNBC are all in the bag for Obama.

  12. The mainstream media has lost 99% of its credibility...  The good news is that most of America is aware of this fact.  This means that the "news" media will NOT have much of an effect on the election results in November.

  13. HUGE influence.  People who go on sites like this care enough to do research on the candidates. Liberal or conservative,  we're the exception.  Most people get their information from the sound bites from 30 minutes of nightly news, one of the three corporate owned cable news networks, or a few mainstream news magazines.  It's sad.  But hey, at least we get to watch celebrity's dancing the tango!....*puts gun to head*

  14. There was a time when the media stood on the reputation of its reporters....Walter Kronkite, Brokaw and Jennings, Edward Murrow and Eric Sevareid...

Today, all they talk about is "ratings"....

    'nuff said...
