How much was your electric bill this month?

Mine was close to $150.00 and I'm not that happy. I have been so careful where I use electricity, and I still get a high bill. I live in a small apartment and I don't even use air conditioning. I also unplug everything in the house at night when I'm sleeping. Thanks to all who answer.

  1. $296.98

It's about $70 more than usual since we took off the storm door and have yet to put the new one on.

  2. $218.00 in Southern New Mexico.  About 30.00 less than the same time last year.  With having to run refrigerated air 24/7, there is not much you can do.

  3. ~~I have had my meter read incorrectly several times. If you call them they will have you read the numbers and see if there is an error. If you aren't using an a.c. and you unplug everything at night you should not have seeen a huge incerease. You may want to clean your refrigerator coils. When they get dirty it makes the fridge run all the time and that makes for a large bill. They sell coil cleaning brushes at hardware stores. I would clean that, then if it continues call up up your power company and discuss the problem with them.~~

  4. $88 this month, but there have been quite a few days over 100 degrees. My apartment is new, has double paned windows and a patio door with a wicked air lock going on...so my place must be pretty well insulated since I'm on the 3rd floor with a southwest exposure.

  5. $263.00 ! And that is on the levelized plan ! And we are having 100+ days in Louisiana !

  6. 203 dollars this month..but yet I have 1100+ square feet..we leave a sliding glass door open about a foot for our cairne terier to come in and out as he goes..a/c on 24/7 especially since we had triple digit temps this month..and I have a large veggie garden that i water constantly and we are on well water with an electric pump..The pump only takes about 20.00 a month to run though..much cheaper than a 80 dollar water or sewage bill...

  7. about  $ 79.00...

  8. If you're not using the A/C, it's hard to see why it should be more than $75 in an apartment building. Top floor using A/C will of course be more. But your not using the A/C. I would suggest you contact the electric company to make an inquiry. We had a first floor condo, with North South exposure, causing very little heat resistance with A/C on in S Florida. Our electric bill never exceeded $90 in any month of the year! If you don't inquire, nothing will change.

I hope they resolve it for you.

    Good Luck,  ;-)

  9. 71 & change > USD.

Was your bill an estimate or actual read? I live in apt also & it seems like the fridge is always running.  Plus my hot water  is electric.  I'm thinking the rates must've gone up as I usually only pay 50.  But then, I did have some guys over who were in the shower quite a bit it seems.

  10. $214...I live in central upstate NY....can't wait till winter..

  11. Mine has doubled from $100 to $200.

(f we wont pay they will disconnect supply.) so we have zero choice!
