  1. It was about $400--with yummy cannoli filling.

  2. $350 ~ for 125 people.

It was Almond Poppyseed with palest pink frosting to match my dress.  It was 3 tiered with flowers (like my bouquet) as a topper.

It was from a small bakery in the town where we had the reception (a B&B  by a big lake)

We kept the top layer for our 1st anniversary and it was still delicious.

  3. I'm getting it from Publix and it's about $350.

    Here's my cake:

Instead of the pink, the bottom layer is going to be an aqua color and the layers are in a different order.  It's a mix of chocolate, vanilla, banana, and lemon cake with butter cream frosting and a one layer has raspberry filling.

  4. Its 3 tiers, marble cake with buttercream icing and a mousse filling. There are also fresh flowers on it. Including the flowers and delivery, it is around $250.I was amazed at that price. We got our choice of cake, choice of filling, choice of frosting and flavors for the same flat rate, she just charged us by the size of each seperate tier (and of course flowers and delivery). And that bakery has done beautiful work for my friends' weddings in the past.I think an average price for a 3-4 tiered cake is $250-$350. Obviously, it will cost more if you are doing anything with columns or flowers between the layers, floating tiers, fancy toppers, fancy designs, etc.

  5. $400 for a 3 tier

  6. I am getting my cake from a lady who used to run a bakery, it is a 5 tier cake and I am also getting a sheet cake with it and its going to cost about $160.00.

  7. My wedding cake would normally cost about $650 but my fiances best friend is a chef and is making our cake a wedding gift to us from him. If I was actually paying for it, we would probably look for something a little les expensive than that.

  8. $285 - it was a cupcake cake.

  9. at my last wedding it cost us nothing as it was made by my mother in law at the time...

my sisters cake cost my mum about $10 after all the decorations were added on...

you can do the cake cheap yourself or get someone to make it for you...

    good luck..

  10. 3 tiers $32

columns to put it together - 2 packs of 4 at $3.99 each

    topper - $40

I would never spend hundreds of dollars on a cake. I just can't do it. It was a white/white cake - I can't stand those "filled" ones. Gross.

    :)

  11. One of our groomsman's mom's makes wedding cakes as a side job, she is doing ours for $100. She does a beautiful job!

  12. Free--it was a wedding gift from a family member who bakes and decorates cakes.

  13. I spent about $550 on a beautiful 3-tiered cake and to tell you the truth it was the biggest waste of money ever. We only ate a bit of the top tier and the rest we kept in the freezer for about a year before chucking it out.

  14. Mine will either be around $35 or thrown in free with the per plate cost at the restaurant if we choose that venue.  We only have 30 guests and I'd rather spend the money on a cute topper that can decorate another cake than a fortune on tiers.  My sister had a relatively plain cake, but a beautiful love bird topper.  The restaurant, where her reception was held, added some leaves and other touches to make the cake outstanding.

For example, my step-daughter-to-be is totally in love with castle toppers for our cake because it fits with my dress (medieval in style and color).  I also think she wants to use it for her birthday cake as well (thrifty, huh?).

I like the idea of an almond poppyseed cake.  Hmm..  Great idea!

  15. the cake it self is $250 and we have to buy the ingrediants, so all together about $300... and it's a huge 4 tiered... the bottom is 14", the second is 12", the third is 10", and the top layter is 8"

  16. I got married 23 years ago today and our cake cost  $85.00 -- which was a lot.  Suppose by today's standards, that would be about $350.00 - $400.00.  It was a beautiful cake, but it was the hottest day of the year and the frosting melted.  All the layers shifted and made a big mess.  At the time I really stressed ... but now we can laugh about it.

  17. $185

  18. $600 - and that was 10 years ago...
