honestly, go to chapters or something and get a wedding planning binder.  Just as much help without having to pay and deal with their attitudes (if you don't get the right one to match you guys the whole thing could be h**l).

Also check out www.theknot.com free to sign up and has GREAT information on there. month by month check lists of what to do, ideas, questions and answers etc etc.  

However, to answer the question at hand, planners usually run about $1200 give or take a bit.

I did everything myself. I think wedding planners are extraneous.
