  1. Most shower heads 2.5 gallons per minute.

  2. Hmmm... I'm not sure exactly how much it wastes, I just know it wastes A LOT!

  3. "waste" or "use" ?

    Part of the 40 minutes would be "use"  (length of a normal shower),  the rest could be called "waste"

    However, we are not running out of water here.... It goes down the drain, into the rivers, to the ocean, then evaporates and comes down as rain.

    Google the "water cycle"....
