  1. For drinks a glass and a cup are the same and are equal to a serving which is 8 ounces.

As far as 8 glasses of water a day goes though, that is outdated and inaccurate. What we actually need for proper health and hydration is 1 ounce for every 2 pounds of body weight and 8 more ounces for every 20 minutes of exercise or activity. With hot/dry days and climates we need more.

We can get water from food and other drinks. However, caffeine and alcohol dehydrates us so they do not count towards water intake. In fact extra water must be consumed to offset the dehydrating effects.

  2. one glass is 8 ounces, so 8x8=64 Oz.

  3. its 16ounces each in my glass..

  4. Recommended is 8 - 8oz glasses

That's 64 oz altogether. I know extremely few people who can actually do that. Just take in as much as you can to start off with. And make little changes like, instead reaching for a soda, get water instead and stuff like that.

  5. They refer to eight ounce glasses, but this has never been proven to have any positive effect on health or weight loss, unless maybe you are drinking water to replace sugary drinks.
