How much water should I use when I water my orchid?

I can't seem to find anywhere that says exactly how much I should water my orchid. I know that the roots shouldn't sit in water, but one set of instructions said that I should drench it. I know that can't be right. If my orchid is in a 4-5 inch pot, how much water should I give it at a time?

Just enough till you are postive you have watered the Orchid and soil thuruly.
