  1. I have no real idea, but I know that we are made up of 80% water. Here is a link I found that might help. I hope it does. http://www.professorshouse.com/family/he...

  2. a normal person needs 8 cups of water a day

    64 ounces.

you can tell by the color of urine.

    the lighter the better.

    dark yellow equals dehydrated.

    white equals hydrated.

  3. water is always good for children

and now that its summer keep the little one hydrated

a bottle or 2 is fine.

  4. you should always make sure water is there when he wants it especially in heat x

  5. 1/2 of his body weight in ounces so like

if he weighed 30 lbs, then he should drink 15 OZ. of water.

or 26 lbs, drink 13oz. so ya

half his body weight but change the lbs sign to oz

  6. when my son my younger it seemd he needed more fluids.  Now he only wants to drink about 4 12 oz cups a day.  3 with milk, about 2 with juice+water.

  7. As much as he wants. Make sure to give it to him after he eats though, because a lot of kids will fill up on water and not eat the food their bodies need.

  8. As much as he thinks he needs. Children that young will not over eat or over drink. My 3 yr old typically drinks 50-75 oz of water or juice every day.

  9. At 16 months, he should be old enough to ask for something to drink when he's thirsty.  If he wants something to drink between meals and snack time, give him water.  He'll stop drinking when he's not thirsty.

  10. i say the more water the better you can never have enough

  11. There shouldnt be a limit, until bedtime and naps. So in that case, dont give any fluids a hour and half before sleep. But of course diapers will still probably be on, so .

  12. If he seems excessively thirsty, call his pediatrician and ask them what they think.  Keep track of how much he drinks over the next couple of days.  I know that excessive thirst is indicative of diabetes, and I know it's probably a remote possibility but I just wanted to mention it.  He's probably fine and just likes practicing a new skill if he's drinking it out of a cup or with a straw.
