Question:

How much water should a person get a day?

I get about 5 regular sized (500mL) bottles of water a day. What is the standard amount? Thanks. : )

  1. thats too much. all of that you hear about drinking four or five bottles a day is wrong and outdated. just drink when you are thirsty. because "you are already dehydrated when you are thirsty" is also not true.  


  2. I always go by the whole take what you weigh and half that number and that's how many ounces of water approximately you should drink a day.

    So for example, I weigh around 90 lbs.. I try and drink 45 or so oz. of water/day.

  12. Just drink when you're thirsty. People who insist you have to drink eight glasses or bottles of water per day frequently don't consider all the water you get with coffee, tea, sodas, juice, etc. It all counts. Granted, sodas aren't as healthy for you as straight water, but the water in it still counts toward your daily consumption of H2O.

    So if you drink a couple of mugs of coffee or juice in the morning, a coke or two (or more) during the day, fruit juice while exercising, iced tea with dinner, then you've probably consumed all the water you need for the day. Any more just makes you pee more than necessary.
