How much wattage is considered a lot when it comes to speakers in a car. (And also with a sub.)

  1. depensd on speaker sensitivit. one can be heard blocks away with 500Watt amp and another cannot with 1000Watts. wattage doesn't mean "how loud is it" i can be heard with 200Watts

  2. over 2400 watts gets fairly dangerous. id say 1200-1800 watts is pretty good for everyday use. but for showcase, go for more watts

  3. It all depends on how loud you want it. I have a 500 watt RMS system in my car and I'm heard a block away. My buddy has a 1000 Watt RMS system and he can be heard even further away. Past that I'm not sure, but i think 750-1500 watts is plenty for everyday use.

  4. Average sub-woofers handle aroud 200-600 watts. Top of the line usually handle aroung 1000 watts rms. Some woofers like KICKERS 18" SOLO X can handle 5000watts rms. So I guess it's really a matter of opinion but I would say anything around 600w up can be considered a lot.
