How much weight can a grand piano support?

Could it support say, 300 pounds and maybe a bit more?

What are you going to be putting on your piano?  I cannot imagine putting an item weighing 300 lbs on top of the piano.   And I cannot imagine that it would be good for it.

Now if you are talking about the bench...  300 lbs would probably be a bit much, but a normal chair could substitute for the bench.
