I already have LCD mounted but need to mount shelves underneath for AV components

It’s unlikely that you would experience any problems as long as you use the proper mounting brackets and self-drilling screws, especially if you’re spanning a total of three steel studs with shelf brackets mounted to each stud. Also keep in mind, the more screws that you’re able to use (within reason of course) the better.



    Assuming you’re using a good quality, wall-mounted shelving system, your primary focus should be on obtaining high quality fasteners that possess a sufficiently high pull-out resistance and shear strength. Use nothing less than high quality #10 or #12 self-drilling screws 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inches long depending on your wall sheathing thickness and mounting hardware.
