How much weight can you lose in 18 days?

My daughter is thirteen, 5' 10" , and weighs 169 pounds. She is starting 8th grade in about 18 days, how much weight do you think she could lose in that time? She has somewhat of a binge eating disorder, but it isn't very bad. Please help me and my daughter.

  1. Does SHE want to lose weight?  If she's not motivated to do it, then its not gonna work.  SHE needs to be the one that wants to change her life.  If she's binge eating, she needs to learn and practice healthy eating habits before worrying about shedding the pounds.

    That being said, a healthy weight loss is 2 pounds a week at the most.  So she could lose up to 5 pounds in 18 days.

  3. it is only healthy to loose 1 to 2 lbs a week, so in 18 days a healthy weight loss would be only 3-5 lbs.  However, if she has a binge eating disorder, she really needs to get that under control first before she can even consider loosing some weight.  Lastly, she may  not  be considered overweight depending on her frame.  if she is a medium she is a good weight and if she is a large frame she is under weight.

  5. Tell your daughter that she needs to change the way she eats.. Just by swapping all the bad with the good can show a major difference.. Let her cut her calorie intake by 500 for seven days and she will avoid a total of 3500 calories in a week which equals to one pound..

    Also, have her do cardio three times a week and strength training two times a week. This can really show a major difference in 18 days.

    Do not try to lose as much as you can because that can be unhealthy.. She can lose about three pounds or so in 18 days just by changing her lifestyle and adding some movements in her daily activities.
