  6. I just went on a cruise and I gained about 3 pounds.

    I guess if you dont exercise the whole time, given the cruise is a week, you might gain 5-10 pounds.

  7. Every time I cruise I lose five pounds.

    1) Walk around the ship a lot. It's pretty and large.

    2) Take the stairs. On some of them there aren't enough elevators anyway, so walk.

    3) They serve lots and lots and lots of fresh fruit. Go for it.

    4) Although there is a wide range of foods, the sit-down dinner proportions are actually quite reasonable. As long as you are ordering one entree, you should be fine.

    5) Go to the disco or salsa floor and dance your a** off.

  9. Whoa folks, I went on a 14 day cruise and my weight didn't change. Granted, I snorkeled, and swam and toured the ports on foot, but nothing extraordinary. To paraphrase..."You can lead a cruiser to the buffet, but you can't make her eat it".

  10. Well, the average is one pound a day.  Personally, I think if the food is really great then it's worth the weight.  =)

    It can be difficult to say no to mouth-watering steaks and delectable desserts. That said, here are a few tips ...

        * Sample, don't pile high. There are so many wonderful options that you will want to try a lot of different things. Many first-timers fill up and then see even more things they would like to try. Especially at buffets, if you take small portions of a lot of different things you enjoy a wide range of foods without feeling over-stuffed.

        * Stick to the main dining room for dinner. This may sound counter-intuitive, but it definitely works for some. In the Lido (more casual, buffet-style dining) it is all too easy to take extra-large portions. In the dining room, you get a four-course meal but you pick one thing for each course off a menu, and each course is generally provided in sensible portions.

        * Avoid sugary drinks. Those tropical cocktails are fun, but not recommended for dieters. One margarita can have 200 calories!

I've heard 5-10 pounds.  It was 10 for me - I went crazy!  But I also did not use the gym or anything, I just relaxed.  Just plan to gain a few pounds and don't worry about it.  Bring pants that have a little "give" to them.  You can get the weight off after you get back, which you'll be in the mood to do because you likely will have eaten lots.

  14. I went on a luxury cruise a while ago, started to pile on the pounds the food there was great. I met this lad who was a painter, he drew me, I was a bit embarrassed as I was carrying the extra weight.

    Then it hit an iceburg and sunk and I lost some weight after that. Didn't see that lad for a while, oh well life goes on.

  20. The average weight is 1 pound a day, but I have found a way to enjoy yourself and not gain. First stay away from the buffet table and eat all your meals in the dinning room. Next eat their spa menu's several times instead of the heavy stuff. Work out every morning in the gym or walk a lot and next use the stairs every time. Give the fruit desserts a try. They are really good. Lastly, when off the ship walk, walk, walk.

    I do know that my friend and her husband came back from their honeymoon noticeably plumper! :-D Lol!

  23. I lost 5 pounds on my cruise. You might eat a lot but it is all great food and you are constantly walking around or doing something.
