How much weight goes into a weighted vest for autistic children?

I thought my son's therapist told me 2% of his body weight, but she put in 4% of his body weight and I didn't figure that out until we got home and it's too late to call her.

  1. Some weighted vest varies. It depends on the weight of the child. I would go with 2-3% of body weight. Also try weighted blankets. It calms down the students I work with. I work at a  high school with teenagers with low fuctioning autism. The blanket we use is 35 lbs. We also have a weighted turtle that sists on their laps that they also like it is about 5 lbs.
