I am traveling from Toronto to Cuba (Varadero) and was wondering how much your luggage bag is allowed to weigh? (without having to pay money for it being over)

And is there a maximum weight for carryons?

  1. It is illegal for United States citizens to set foot in the Communist Country of Cuba. People think they are clever by going from a foreign country then to Cuba. I have known such disloyal, disobedient, unpatriotic people. But guess what? You will have to lie to immigration officials upon your return back from your journey. Which is a federal crime if they really wanted to pursue it. In this day & age after 9/11 do you not think that they do not have everything in records on the computer? You will probably get away with it & no repercussions. However, if the officials do detect that you are withholding something, they are trained to do just that, they just may punch up your social security number up later on a foreign flights database. You may be on your way home with your cigars or whatever but as you are smiling the FBI are creating a case file with your name on it. They may never inform you unless you work as a civil servant or repeat your trips to Cuba often. You may one day be very upset to find out that all your student loans and college degrees will be for nil because you have been not given a job within government. Also I want you to be aware that there is a exit tax when you leave Cuba. They just love you there don't they? It can not be paid in any other form but cash & not American money. So you better hold on to about 50 bucks worth of currency that they will exchange otherwise you will miss your flight back & will be in a world of hurt trying to escape from that Communist Island. Its what the local officials there count on. Have fun & hope that you enjoy your trip.

  2. Normally the luggage that you check in is 50 lbs. and the carry on is 21 lbs; However, you better check with the airlines as is different from airline to airline.

Your are entitle to a carry on and a back pack, or purse, or computer.

  3. It's better to check out the Baggage policy of that Airlines on its website or you can ask that Airlines directly.

  4. 25 to 50 pounds each for checked luggage and 15 pounds for carry ons.

  5. it all depends what flight you go on because some flights have a fee for luggage's going over the weight limit but with the carry there is no fee for the carry on but i would call just to be on the safe side

  6. Generally speaking, 20kg of check luggage and 10kg of carry-on luggage.  But this can vary, dependent on the airline.  You also have a larger checked luggage allowance in First Class (these weights are for Economy/Coach).

  7. Depends on the airline.  Your best bet is to visit the airline website and see what their requirements are.
