How much weight would I loose?

I am going on a diet starting Monday. I am going to go buy me a fridge for my dorm room. However on this diet I plan on eating six small HEALTHY meals and go running in the evening when I get off from work. Plus I also walk to classes. I plan on going walking/jogging/and running for about an hour or more 7 days a week. My cut off time to eat will be 6 pm. I plan on drinking nothing but water and a small sugarless green tea (from the bag) cup at night while doing my studies. How much weight do you think I will loose in ONE, TWO, AND THREE MONTH PERIOD. My goal is to burn all the fat off. Below are my stats. My goal weight is 140-145 slim.

Weight now 190.

Pants size 36

Height 5'7

My goal is to get to a swimmers body built. I want my pants size to be either a 30 or 29. Please tell me some advice if you have any. But please make sure you tell me how much weight you think I will loose by doing this. GRACIAS

  1. Hi!

To be safe, I would set your three month goal to 165. You really don't want to be losing more than 2 lbs. a week. It's not healthy.

If you do run for an hour 7 days a week, you will be doing a LOT of cardio, but no strengthening. I'm a little worried that you may end up losing muscle as well. I would recommend that you add weight training for three days a week, and take the cardio down to 45 minutes. That way you will be slimming down and getting toned as well.

Also, if burning fat is your main concern, I would run in intervals.

All in all, I think your positive energy and outlook is a good thing, just make sure you are eating enough and not over-doing the exercise. Good luck!

It sounds like you have some strong goals for yourself. It can be very exciting at the beginning, but try to keep that motivation up. it's not easy!

Now, you need to include some lifting in your plan. Even if you don't want to be buff (which would make no sense to me at all) you need to lift weights. when you stregnthen your muscles, your metabolism is increased. this is because your body is using more calories all the time in order to supply those muscles appropriately. it's a lot more in depth than that, but you get it, right?

don't worry about the number on the scale!! just worry about your clothing size and how you look in the mirror. i'm a female, 5'5 and i weigh 135. i'm strong and fairly lean. you know what your goals are, and if you mantain that regimen, you will reach them.

but since you want numbers - i think that in one month you could be down 20 lbs, (assuming you have a pretty crappy diet right now.)

and the next month - 15

    maybe 5 the next month.

muscle weighs more than fat. everyone will preach that to you. that's why i say look in the mirror, take pictures, and measure around your waist and chest and stuff.

i wish you lots of luck! remember to take a day off here and there, don't overwhelm yourself!
