Question:

How much wieght will i loose?

im 15 yrs. old. and im 4"11 [[short]] and i want to loose aprox. 10 lbs. in 1 month =] how much weight will i loose if i excersize daily? i have P.E at skul. and all we do is strech and sumtimes yoga & do a fitness walk. if i keep this up. how much weight will i loose by the end of da month or begining of september??

  2. 10lbs is too much for an Adult to lose in a month!  It is beyond healthy or reasonable for someone your age!  

    First off, what is your weight to begin with?

    Second, your goal should be NO more than .5 to 1lb a week!

    Third, let yourself GROW into your weight!

    Fourth, calories in minus calories out determine if your going to lose weight or not.  You might just switch to eating a little bit healthier and get the results you want.  No soda, just water, no candy bars, just vegetables... etc.  Stay away from foods high in calories such as potato chips or fast foods!  Be wary of restaurant foods because most of them are just as bad... especially restaurants that wont post their calories on line!  Also, think about your size portions!   You will be surprised what one serving REALLY is!  

    The main trick of this whole thing is to NOT let your body go into starvation mode.  If you do, you will end up losing muscle (not fat which should be your real goal).  If you try to drastically lose weight, you will end up entering starvation mode and you will ONLY succeed in lowering your metabolism.  Then when you finally get so hungry that you break your diet, you only gain your weight back faster than you lost it!

    At your age, exercise more!  Mix that with eating healthy and your on your way to the body you want!

    EDIT - Chrissy, everyones Basic Metabolic Rate is Different!  This girl is ONLY 4'11".  1800 calories would be FAR beyond what she would use in a day!  DONT just spout off values like that!  Additionally... its also bad to recommend any of those calorie counting sites such as www.myfitnesspal.com because they are for ADULTS!  Not growing people who burn FAR more calories then someone older!

  3. Well it will vary. There's no way to tell without knowing all about your diet and how much you're actually exercising and for how long. You'll definitely see some results in the next 10 days (by sept 1) but I don't think it'll be 10 pounds. You could, however, reasonably lose 5 pounds in the next ten days without killing yourself.

    Try and drink at least 12 cups of water a day....your body releasing its water weight will release some poundage instantly. Also work out and eat healthy. Vegetables and grains that are high in fiber.

    Breakfast eat 1 egg and a slice of high fiber toast for energy

    Lunch try a salad with a few cashews or some sort of nuts for protein

    Dinner either a whole wheat pasta or chicken or fish...all are good for you in moderation.

    Make sure to eat foods that will keep your energy up and your metabolism working.
