I live in WA and I was at a complete stop on the freeway when a utility truck rear-ended me going around 60mph. I ended up on the side of the road and he also smashed up the car in front of me. I ended up with a broken ankle, had surgery and physical therapy. I missed two months of full-time work and one month of half-time work. I was told by my doctor that I will have arthritus. My mother broke her ankle in the same place years ago and she still has problems with it. I am about to settle and my lawyer won't give me an estimate. I don't have a job now so I am getting nervous, because I wouldn't be able to afford medical bills at this time. It was a company truck that hit me.

  1. they should be paying for your car, all your medical bills, and all wages lost from being out of work.  as for your settlement, thats such an individual case by case we cant answer that.  since it was a company auto, they should be carrying pretty high limits on their policy.  do NOT let your lawyer settle until you are happy with the amount offered. once you settle, its done and you cant go back and redo it.

  2. What is the dollar amount that you are suing (asking) for?  If your lawyer won't give you an estimate, then how can we give you one?  It's not as if These amounts are  listed on some kind of a schedule of benefits.
