How much will I get paid???

Question

I accepted a new job that pays salary on the 1st and 16th of every month. I will only be working one week before my first payday, so will I still get half of the full salary amount or just one fourth?

Depends on if your employer pays for the previous week.  Many employers pay for the previous month.  You might need to wait until NEXT payday to get 3 weeks worth of pay.  The reason is that it takes time to add up all the payroll for a company, write the checks, transfer funds to the payroll bank account and pay the taxes.  This all needs to be done before you have an opportunity to cash the paycheck.  Best way to get an answer...is ask your boss.
