I am paying $7.50 USD.

It is being converted to £3.79 GBP.

I have $9.41 on the account and I absolutely DO NOT want the card charged.

Can I make this payment?

  1. They don't charge the sender anything. They only charge the recipient of the payment, including any conversion charge.

  2. If you are sending the funds as GBP, you pay the conversion fee.  If you are sending the funds as USD then the seller will have to pay to convert the USD in his balance into GBP in order to withdraw them.  But in this scenario, since you know that the charge is in GBP, you will be converting the funds from USD to GBP before the payment will complete.  The best way to find out if your CC will be charged is to start the transaction.  On the final payment screen (before you hit "pay now") it will show you what the amount total will be.  It will also show you where the money will come from.  If it doesn't mention anything about drafting from a bank or CC then the entire transaction will be funded from the balance.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
