I say the average US cost of a gallon of gas on Sept 7 2008 will be 5.40 a gallon.

Well, let's see... Any Hurricanes in the Gulf- will tack on another 50 cents per Gallon apiece.  Further devaluation of the $ & deterioration in the U.S. Economy- is good for another 75 cents a gallon... And if Bush REALLY decides to leave Office with a "Bang" -& bomb Iran, the ensueing Chaos on the World Oil Markets is CERTAINLY good for at LEAST another $2. or $3. a gallon -depending upon how LONG the Crisis lasts... SO;  that would leave us with a "range"for Gas- anywheres from  $5. to $7.50 . Of Course, one can't account for ALL the Possible things that can drive up the price of Gas... But Conservatively speaking, you're looking at a "good bet in Vegas"- if you "play" $6. a gallon (give or take a $1.) by Labor Day. ... Happy Motoring!  :)
