I got contacts and my insurance pays for that (well only 6 months supply of it anyways >.< i hate my insurance company!)

Anyways, I asked for glasses and they said they have to ask the insurance company if they will cover glasses. And I'm preparing for the worst, if they do not cover my glasses.

So, when calculating the cost of glasses, do they only count the frames or the frames and lens? What determines the cost of glasses?

And what is the cheapest glasses you ever saw? I dont care about what my glasses looks like, Im not trendy, im jsut care that i have a pair of glasses. So im trying to save money to get a cheap glasses.

  1. It all depends on how much your frames are and what type of lenses you are getting. I have bad eyessight.Last time I got $40 frames and the cheapest pop-bottle lenses and total was $80 at Walmart. This time around I opted for thinner lenses and polishing with $64 frames (same place) Total $216. At walmart they do have frames as low as $18. Cheapest lenses ( for regular near or far-sight) run about $15-$20 per lens. So $60 is about the Cheapest Walmart can get

  2. If you went to some place like Walmart - you could get a pair of glasses for around $150

  3. www.ZenniOptical.com

    try here, they are $8!!

  4. I've seen glasses from $38 to $300....from Wal-mart to an eye center...Mine were around $100, BUT I got new lenses the other day and they were $30 plus $20 for fitting and that was just the plastic ones, not the coated non-glare ones, which were $100 plus $20 for fitting at WAL-Mart. Since I pay cash too, I got the cheaper lenses this time.
