  1. Depends on what has caused the head gasket to go, if it has over heated then more money. If it has just started to wear and you want to replace before you have a prob then not much.

If it has over heated and the head gasket has gone then you could have a high bill due to water. The head will definately be warped so will need replacing or skimming (go for skimming its cheaper)

Again depends where it has failed, if its between two cylinders then you def has a problem.

The rad would be best sourced 2nd hand on ebay or similar as they are £10 or £200+ new?!?

Until you get it looked at the cost could be anything, we had a mgf t in with head gasket probs, came in at £2000 by the time we had finished due to water knackering it beyond economical repair so replacement engine. They wanted a new one hence price.

Boxer 1.9 engine about £1400 brand new, or £1900 for the HDI. Again a good second hand engine in UK would be about £250-£400 tops and about £300 labour to fit.

If no damage and you are just replacing the head gasket and rad about 2-3 hrs labour plus rad. approx £200 if you supply the rad.

DONT forget the citroen relay is the same vehicle so source a  relay or boxer engine if needed, NOT the fiat version as they use their own engine in the same van. Although you could fit it, its c**p.

  2. £300 - £400 all in.
