  1. get your self a arc welder (stick welding) the plant only needs to be 80 amp they are cheap, and get a auto darkening mask

  2. What type of welder are you looking for? Arc, Tig, Mig or gas?

Single phase arc welder about £60.

    Single phase 300amp inverter £350

  3. $1500 for a good used one

  4. More details required.

  5. hi I got myself a welder from a second hand shop about 10 years ago and still going well for £30.This is a basic arc welder which takes little time to master.Tried my sons mig welder but found it harder. The arc welder uses rod of sizes to suit the metal you require to weld, and you ajust the welders amps to suit the rod and type of metal.Hope this helps.

  6. Answer to your question- since you will be welding mild steel tubing, yes any welder will work.

If your just starting out would recommend a lincoln buzz box welder- stick welder- new they cost $250, used $50-150, they last forever hard to blow one up.

Since your only 15, use that to your advantage...  ask everyone at school if any of thier parents weld.  and ask them if they would teach you to weld.  You can usually find someone to teach you to weld or will weld your go cart for FREE.  Ive lost count of projects that I have helped my kids and my kids friends on.

  7. Your best bet would be to find a local engineering company, and ask them to give you a quote.lt would be cheaper than hireing welding gear and trying to do it yourself, having never welded before l would never drive a cart that you had a bash at.If you find a small company with a decent boss ,he might even allow you to watch and maybe have a go at welding.Good luck.

  8. Try SCREWFIX, Cheap Tools And Equip, You'd Be Talking Around £40 For A Basic One.

  9. Depends on whether it is a male or female welder. Whether they are on Union rates and how much travel time they need to charge!!

or DIY and get a cheapo welding unit down your local store and get arc-eye as you do not have the right training and safety equipment! Medical bills will then cost a fortune in the States or you will go blind on the UK NHS.

  10. Wood, both CLS structural timber, and 12.5mm (1/2inch) plywood, is ideal for making go-karts.
