How much will biking, running and weight lifting help me with distance swimming?

Im 16 and I am on my highschool swim team. I currently have a 6:15 in the 500 free.

  1. While cross training is good your time will improve by honing your technique and strategy (pool swim), i.e., timing when you sprint--last 50, 100 in your event.  Also, mixing up the workout by including sprint sets will help you push your speed envelope.


  2. yes but most important is technique and when my older sister was 10 she was faster than you
