i plan on going to college in japan. first of all, i want to learn the language. i was thinking about using rosetta stone, and that cost $500 for the bundle pack of all three, rather than buying all three seperatly for $700. but in any case, i'll also need a plain...plane....ticket. and other c**p in japan like an apartment and tuition. so, i have $500 in my savings account my parents set up when i was like....8. so, if i add that to everything else, how much will i have to save up?

  1. About $5,000 to $8,000 to start off. This is for your plane ticket and getting an apartment and furnishing your apartment, including buying Rosetta Stone. Are you going to be working there as well? It will help if you are able to get a job. Tuition is going to be expensive so having a job is a MUST unless your parents are going to pay for it. Try getting a credit card before going, it'll be easier in the beginning when you get there and you'll have some time before you have to start making the monthly payments on the credit card. Luckily many credit cards require a minimum payment of just $20 a month. $5,000 to $8,000 will get you a couple of months of living just fine. Of course you have to factor in food, utilities and transportation but if you budget well you can definitely live on this amount for a couple of months.

    Hope I helped :).

  2. listen going to school away from may cost a lot if you know how to budget well you might need about 5000 to7000 o.k. now you should live well for a while if you budget well remember.
