  1. It is possible to take in a dress that many sizes, however due to the bodice being heavily embroidered, the pattern on it may look a little off if it were to be taken in that much.  Be prepared to shell out hundreds of dollars for alterations as sizing a wedding dress down that many sizes will involve major work.  Not only that but you will need (or should) take the dress to a very good seamstress with a good reputation for this kind of work.

  2. About $50.00

  3. Probably just as much as it would be to buy a new one. Call any bridal boutique or seamstress, they be able to give you a quote.

Also, be careful because alerting a dress to much can change the look of a dress.

  4. Usually you can't alter a dress that much without changing the lines of the dress.

    Call a seamstress or tailor.

  5. Honestly?  About as much as it would cost to buy the dress in the correct size and have minor adjustment.  That is a VERY large alteration and one that large is going to throw off the whole look of the dress....it basically needs to be remade from scratch.

  6. Not much. It is easier to take a dress in then it is to let it out. Don't go to David's Bridal or any other bridal store, they will charge you an arm and a leg to do the same work of a private seamstress.

  7. As much as the dress.

Buy a new one, alterations that extreme can be about $250

    Good luck

  8. ask a wedding dress alterer.

how would folks perusing yahoo answers have that information.

Why are there so MANY Dumb questions on yahoo answers?

  9. You'd have to ask a seamstress. Prices range very widely for services like that. (David's Bridal typically charges about $100 more than you'd pay at a private seamstress.) However, the bad news is that they might not even be able to do that. It's difficult to take a dress down by more than one or two dress sizes; to take it down six sizes, they'd essentially have to completely take it apart and put it back together. With the intricacy of the bodice, it might be impossible, and even if they could do it, it's not going to look the same because of the embroidery and beading, and you'd probably pay so much that you could've afforded to just buy a brand new dress that actually fit you.
