How much will it be to cancel my phone line?

I have the second phone on a family share plan, and it is supposed to be up in august of next year, but i want to cancel it now. Does anyone know around what it might cost. I dont really need an exact amount.

  1. Call your phone company.  If you have a contract you might want to read over it.  If it is land line usuallly there is no charge.  If you have a final balance for service, at some point you should pay it or it might go on your credit report after a couple of months of not being paid.


  2. landlines do not have cancellation fees.. perhaps this question is for cell phones, in which case it is in the wrong section..

    when you signed your contract for your cellular service, you agreed to a termination amount, perhaps $150 per line (i do not know, it can vary, you need to check your contract)

    some carriers from time to time will pro rate your cancellation fee... so the longer you keep the service, the less the cancellation fee will be...

    if you cancel within the grace period usually the first 30 days, there is no cancellation fee

    if your contract is up, and you did not renew, and are on a month to month with your carrier then there should be no cancellation fee..

  3. If you didnt sign a contact then its free. Remember they will send you your last bill.
