  1. Initially, you may have to fork over as much as $60 to $75 for a good habitat (about $30 to $45), bedding ($5), food ($5), a few toys ($10), and the hamster ($10), of course.  Every week thereafter, is fairly cheap.

I have eight hamsters and I spend about $35 per week ($35/8 = $4.38).  This  goes mainly on bedding and food and occasionally new toys or treats.  So, on average, it'll be $5 or less per week.  Hope this helps!

  2. I used to have a hamster, it wasn't that expensive per month. Just be willing to invest in a good cage, because you don't want your furry friend to get out and maybe get lost or hurt. Mainly the only thing you need each month is food and the nesting (or stuff that goes inside the cage) you can get your hamster special things like toys and such but that's only if you want to or have some extra money. Hamsters are not very expensive just make sure that you are going to take care of it and the only toys that you really have to have are the rolling wheel which normally comes with the cage or somethign else that the hamster can use to move around. Have fun and if I were you I would do more research on what you should have because my hamster has been gone for about two years so I could be leaving things out and I really want you to be prepared. Hope I helped.
