How much will it cost for my mom to add me on the insurance thing?

does it cost us anything? i do not have my own car but i will be using my moms. does she simply add my name to the list or is it going to cost something?

  1. Anytime someone else is going to be driving a covered vehicle the risk changes. In your case, with you being a young driver, it will substantially change. Your mom needs to add you as a covered driver, but not as the primary driver...that's assuming you're not going to be driving the vehicle daily. But, take my advice......don't try to fool the insurance company. It will always come back to bite you!!!


  2. Yes, adding a driver to the policy does increase the cost of the insurance.  Your age has a lot to do with it.  Insurance goes down for females when they turn 21, for males it is the age of 25.

    Did you take defensive driving in school?  That was a deduction on our insurance when my kids were added.  Also, how are your grades, A \ B students get a deduction also.

    Have your mom call the insurance company and have them work up a price estimate.  They will ask her question pertaining to every possible deduction that they have that might apply.
