  1. Well depends a bit on car and road and traffic conditions  but approx,  ÃƒÂ‚£50 to £60.

  2. £45-£55 depenting on the petrol station and the way you drive

  3. 9 gallons, so whatever that costs you where you purchase your petrol.

  4. 30 miles a gallon, 300 miles = 10 gallons

Fuel is £1.18 per litre average (from AA site)

    1 gallon = 3.8 litres = 38 litres x £1.18 = £44 approx

  5. Your C3 should average between 43 & 47 mpg. This means that it should use about 6.7 gallons on your return journey.

    Assuming petrol's £1.17 a litre, it'll cost £35.

  6. For those that do not know 1 Gallon is equal to just over 4.5 litres. Not 3.8

  7. erm no 10 gallons around £60

  8. Does your car do 50mpg or 20 mpg? I don't know, and nobody else knows, only you.

  9. No sure, but sounds as if your question is related to the high petrol prices. If so, there are ways to lower your consumption, for exactly reducing your speed. I've changed my driving behaviour as here in France prices have gone out of control, by reducing my speed from 130km on the motorway to 110km, I can see a huge difference. Sorry, miles means nothing to me.

  10. Yea i would say anywhere between £40-60 , my old little peugeot diesel would do it on £20!!

  11. What engine, petrol or diesel? There is a lot of nonsense being generated for this question. For example, many people don't know the difference US and Imperial gallons. And so many people didn't bother to check the C3's published fuel consumption.

Anyway I make it nearly £36.

I've done a calculator so that you can plug in your own values and tweak them as you need.

  12. Well a C3 is a low energy using car. Depends if you are using a diesel or petrol car too. If its Diesel then its 57 MPG (Miles per gallon). Petrol is 67.5 MPG.

  13. Hello,

(ANS) The REAL answer depends upon a number of specific factors, these are well known & recognized factors.

No.1 Engine size or engine power (say 1.1 litre or 1.4litre)

No.2 The engine size will also determine how many miles per gallon or litres per kilometers your car will give you in terms of performance.

No.3 The speed at which the trip is made i.e. (half at 70mph & half at 40-50mph).

    No.4 Calc is 300miles divided by 40mpg = 7.5 gallons of petrol (34 litres of fuel) if priced at 117.9 per litre = £40 - £50 approx.

  14. I think Chrissie has got the fuel economy of a C3 slightly on the high side. The Official figures for fuel consumption for the C1, Citroen's most economic car, at about that figure, and I'm sure the C3 is quite a bit lower. In practice, I would think you would be doing well to get an overall fuel economy of 45 - 50 miles per gallon, or pretty well on the 10 miles per litre.

So, 300 miles would require 30 litres, and at  the £ 1.18 already quoted ( from the AA) that makes the round cost £35.40. Of course, you can get petrol cheaper at the Supermarkets, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons or Asda, but it won't make a very great difference in the cost, still, worthwhile if you can do it without  any hassle.   Drive safely !
