How much will it cost to call the USA from Jamaica? What's the be$t way 4 a tourist from US to phone home?

I just assume that my cell phone won't be working. Is there an international calling card? and would it be cheape to buy that in the USA

I am actually going to Jamaica myself in a week and use Verizon as a wireless carrier. To use your cell phone you need to call Verizon ( if that is what you have) and they can upgrade it for you for free to make the calls possible. Then each receiving or incoming call costs $1.29 per minute.

I was in Jamaica and we did buy calling card but they didnt work there, but at our resort they had a deal so you could call the US for $6 a min on their phone, it was pricey.

You can buy a calling card while in JA to call the US. I think the best way is to rent or buy a cell phone for 30 USD and use it while in Ja. I plan to rent one at the Montego Bay airport.
