I have a camera (Advance Photo System), that I really like, but the lens no longer extends for zoom shots. It appears to be a motor problem. I think it got wet or something. How much will it cost to fix or is it even worth it?

  1. to be honest mate camera's are so cheap now it might be better to buy a new one with the same abilities unless it is a very expensive camera and it will cost less to fix than replace it with one of the same quality

  2. 200-300 dollars for a new lens i remember hearing somewhere. Varies on model probably. Mine has the same problem kinda. search for lenses on ebay or other online shops and get a idea on price. You'd only know how much $ it would cost to fix if you got somebody to check it out and tell you what the problem actually is.

If it's wet,  dry it out in very light shade, direct sun could damage the camera. Or use heat, or hot water cupboard, might still be dangerous though.

Westwood's answer is probably right too.

  3. if the lense is detachable then it should be a case of just repairing that..

shouldn't cost to much - depending on the make
