How much will it cost to go 1,500 miles?

I'm seventeen, turning 18 on July 30. I intend to go Massachusetts, and I'm unsure what the cost will be. I don't eat much, I have no medical conditions, and I would like to stay in a hotel every two days. Well, basically 2 - 4 hotel stays round trip.

Additionally, my car can get to 26 mpg, on the highway. I think. Lowest is probably 22.

Also, I'm wondering about the best method for a young man in a small town to go about getting money for that sort of thing.

1500 miles divide by your mpg - say 25 mpg. equals 60 gallons of gas round trip so then multiply that by how much gas averages in your area. (Here that is $3.55 gal. to equal $213 for gas). Then figure how much the hotels will be - go on line and get information about rates where you'll be traveling -- you'll probably need at least $700 and don't forget to have an emergency plan for any road repairs on the car. Be Safe!

To make money - well how about mowing lawns, delivery driver, recycling aluminum, odd jobs for elderly neighbors, be inventive.
