im 37single father of a 5 years old little girl, planning on visiting venezuela barcelona and puerto la cruz in specific, can i find a small decent simple apartment or room with or near the local people there, ? my budget is around $400 a month that includes every thing from cost of rent to food (home made food).

im looking for a place close to the locals so i can improve my spanish speaking abilities which are very humble!! also for my kid to find someone her age to spend time with.

is it possible to make such a trip? appreciate any reply.....

  1. Certainly, English is not widely spoken in Venezuela but from what I can read your goal is to improve your Spanish, then you don't need to be around too many gringos.

Regarding budget considerations, I doubt $400 a month will do it in Puerto La Cruz since it's the most expensive city in the country. In that case,  I suggest Merida or if being in the coast is important to you, I would say Choroni or Río Caribe.

  2. hmmm i wouldn't unless I was venezuelan because not very many people there speak english and living there is not like living in the united states. over there you depend on other people for almost everything.

i mean it might be good if you want to experience real poverty and what not but maybe argentina might be a better choice?

  3. mmmm....Venezuela is a beautiful country..! i wanna move to there...go to Venezuela..
