How much will my auto insurance cost?

Ok...so I'm looking at an old 73' Bug to possibly buy for college and all. Cost- of the car at least- is not a problem, as its $100, and I have $100. (Yes, it does have issues and looks horrible, but hey it runs and drives). So...that brings up insurance. There is NO way I can get in on my mom's insurance- she won't let me get a car so the only way is if I do all myself, and I'm 18 now and going to college in a few weeks, so a=Im looking at my options. I know as a male teenage driver its going to be high, but what is high? How much will good grades and all that help? Just, what would you recommend and how much could it end up costing? Thanks...

Depends on how many years youve been driving, your driving record, and your coverage. An 18 year old male with a few speeding tickets, 1 year experience, and basic coverage (where I'm from) would be $5000-6000 a year. I'm 22, been driving for 6 years, clean record, married (which helps), driver training (tractor trailer driver). I have a new car with full coverage and I pay $1400/year. I have an old car like the one you describe too, all I have is minimum coverage, and it costs $400/year. If I had some of your stats I might be able to give you a better idea.......

For car insurance the obvious way to get a great rate is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make certain that you choose similar options with the same limits, car make, location, etc so that all things are a good comparison.



What I most often recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.InsureAutoNow.info since they have discount insurers and will give many quotes on car insurance polices.

depends on your age. for an old Bug mmmm..... 40-75 $ i would say a month.
