How much will one have to earn in order to be considered the richest 1% of Americans?

Question

Obama wants to increases taxes on the top 1% of americans. What does this 1% range from? Another way to put it, how much does the lower 1% of the wealthiest earn as apposed to the top 1% of the wealthiest? Could you cite sources please.

In 2004, in order to be in the top 1%, you had to earn over $277,000 per year.
