How much will retainers hurt when you first get them compared to braces?

Question

I know they will hurt at first and be uncomfortable until your body gets used to it. But how much will it hurt compared to braces? Keep in mind I had braces for a long time and I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out at once.

they didn't hurt me at all, the pain was from getting them off! they practically scrape the cement off and they filed my one tooth! that HURT!!!! but the retainers aren't that bad

they don't hurt at all if you wear them all the time.  they are meant to retain your teeth in the position your braces left them in.  they do feel very snug if you don't wear them all the time or if you try to put them back in after a long period of not wearing them.  your teeth will move.  i suggest wearing them as long as they recommend!  my teeth moved and my bottom teeth are crooked after wearing braces for 7 years!  it's so not worth it so just deal with wearing them as often as humanly possible!

The retainers will affect different people in different ways. But if they do hurt the only way to make it better is to wear your retainer and do not take it out. At first your retainers will feel bulky and you my experience some some speech problems(kinda like a lisp) this gets better with practice. One of the best things you can do is to read books out loud or talk to your self. This will help you get used to the retainers faster. *Remember that retainers are one of the most important parts of your orthodontic treatment. Wear your retainers as directed for the best result. o u will be fine trust me, thats nothing compared to getting teeth pulled or braces, so im sure it will hurt a tad but not as much as the others, good luck

i dont think they hurt, i wear mine at night and in the morning it aches a tiny bit but its no pain, alot better then braces anywayx
