Question:

How much will the value of my car change?

So, I was in a car accident, the other insurance accepted 100% liability, but my insurance still handled the claim and is billing them. Anyway, my car is a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer. The private party value of the car is $9700 in good condition. I just got the car back, and they did $10,700 worth of repairs to it! First off, I don't understand why it was not totaled (the original estimate was $8210). I feel like I got screwed and I am now stuck with a car that has more work done to it than it's worth. How much will all those repairs affect what I am able to re-sell it for? If it is a lot could I sue? I don't want to sue anyone, but I don't want to get screwed either, especially since the accident wasn't even my fault.

  1. I would like to recommend you possess as much information as you can before taking action, here is a good place for that purpose.http://car-insurance.online-helpers.info...

  2. Seems to me that some adjuster did not perform "due diligence".......You, I think are in an untenable position.  You have a car that at best is worth$9,700 and frankly having that much work done on has really devalued it.

You might want to look at Kellybluebook.com or NADA.com or Edmunds.com and get a sense of the value of your car.

Lancers never were very toney and reliable so If I were you, I'd take a loss and bail out....get a Corolla or Sentra.  You will fell better and be safer.

I actually think you have an issue to take up with your state's insurance comissioner.  Yes, I think you are either getting screwed or already have been screwed.  If the issue is still pending, I'd try to force them to give you cash.  Be interesting to see how this turns out

    Good luck
